Leaving Mitzrayim - A Jewish Boy’s Ancient Diary
By Chaim Greenbaum (Author)
Children loved reading Amiasaf’s diary in My Last Year in Mitzrayim. Now, they can join Amiasaf as he is LEAVING MITZRAYIM!
Yes, dear diary. Can you believe it? We’re going to be free! After centuries of slavery ... the dream that we have dreamed for generations is finally coming to pass. We have merited, finally, to emerge from the darkness to the light — from slavery to freedom!
So begins nine-year-old Amiasaf ‘s diary, as he continues to bring the story of Yetziyas Mitzrayim to life.
Our children will be there when the Jews bravely tie up the lambs for Korban Pesach. They will accompany the former slaves as they retrieve the Egyptians’ treasures during Makkas Choshech, watch the idols of Mitzrayim collapse into nothingness, eat of the Korban Pesach at the world’s very first Seder. We will travel with Amiasaf and his family to the banks of the Yam Suf, facing its waters in front of them and the fearful Egyptian army at their backs, awaiting Hashem’s miracles.
Based on the Torah narrative and many midrashim, Leaving Mitzrayim will enhance our children’s Seder, and their appreciation for one of the most important events in our history.
