The Book of the Twelve Prophets Vol.2, commences with the prophecy of Micah the Morashtite, the last of the four contemporary prophets: Hosea, Isaiah, Amos, and Micah. He is known for his prophecy of the destruction of the Temple and the Holy City, already mentioned in Jeremiah 26:18. His prophecy is interspersed with retribution and consolation, including that concerning the Messianic era, the wording of which is almost indentical to Isaiah. The second prophecy is that of Nohum the Elkoshite, which describes the impending doom of the mighty world capital, Nineveh. The third prophecy is that of Habakkuk, who questions G-d's causing the wicked to prosper and the righteous to suffer. Next is the prophecy of Zephaniah concerning the Day of Judgment. The book ends with the last three prophets: Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, after whom there is no more prophecy. Malachi concludes with the prophecy of the coming of the prophet Elijah, the forerunner of the Messiah son of David, who will return the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers.
